Daikin unveils new manufacturing and distribution facility

The development of Daikin’s new manufacturing and distribution facility near Houston, TX, represents one of the largest single investments made by an HVAC manufacturer anywhere in the world, possibly since the invention of modern air conditioning. With over 4.1 million square feet of operational space, it’s the first Daikin facility to manufacture both ducted and ductless HVAC systems, making this new facility ground-breaking, indeed.

Here are some quick facts:

  • The 500 acre site is located in Northwest Harris County; the official address is 19001 Kermier Road, in Waller Texas.
This can be seen at google maps at
  • The building is roughly 4.2 million square feet, with 1.8M for the distribution center, 1.8M for manufacturing, 220K for office space, 200K for testing labs, and a 200K square foot mezzanine above the manufacturing floor.

  • Daikin and Goodman will consolidate all HVAC manufacturing and testing facilities in Tennessee and Houston to produce all residential and light commercial products in this new location. This includes: residential AC & HP, gas furnaces, light commercial air handlers, cased and uncased evaporator coils, PTAC, residential package units, VRV, and minisplits. There are no plans to manufacture Applied equipment at this location.

  • After all the consolidations are completed we will have roughly 6,800 employees on campus. Ultimately, the entire Daikin North America HVAC manufacturing operations with the exception of some executive offices and support teams will be operational at the new facility.

  • Daikin plans to begin delivering residential AC and HP products assembled in the new facility during the fall of 2016.
