Daikin and McQuay have begun construction of a new $50 million global research and development center at McQuay's headquarters in Plymouth, Minnesota. The new Applied Development Center (ADC) will support product development, testing and verification of a full range of Daikin-McQuay commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) systems for worldwide markets.
This is an exciting, concrete example of the Daikin's commitment to growth in the commercial HVAC market - particularly McQuay's North America business - in pursuit of being the worldwide #1 provider of HVAC systems and services. The new state-of-the-art ADC is expected to be complete in spring 2009 and will include the latest technological advancements in the HVACR industry. It will also allow us to leverage the expertise of Daikin and McQuay in a combined facility to accelerate the development of innovative, environmentally responsible products, systems and services that benefit the industry and the lives of our customers.
More updates will be provided as the construction progresses.
